Storing fuel at home

In anticipation of potential industrial action by the fuel tank drivers in the coming days, we advise our customers, planning to store fuel at home, to consider the law and advice from the Fire Service.Man filling car with petrol

• Storage of fuel at home is restricted to two metal containers with a capacity of 10 litres each or approved plastic containers with a maximum capacity of five litres each

• The containers must be specifically designed for the storage of fuel, clearly labelled and fitted with a screw cap to prevent leakage

• Containers should be stored either in the shed or garage.
