Excess protection from £26.00 per year

Our home insurance excess protection

We don’t want you to have to pay out unnecessarily if you need to make a claim. That’s why we’ve introduced excess protection to our home insurance. An optional add-on policy, it’s designed to refund your excess charge. You’ll need to pay your excess amount upfront, but you can then claim it back following a successful home insurance claim – giving you peace of mind. There’s also an option to cover your excess for subsidence claims for £30.25 per year, which is higher than our standard policy excess.

Why choose excess protection?

A home insurance excess is an amount you have to pay towards an insurance claim. So, for example, if you make a successful insurance claim of £300 and you have a £100 excess, then you’d pay the first £100 and the insurer would cover the remaining £200.

It’s possible to reduce your excess costs by paying higher premiums – while paying a lower premium usually mean your excess increases.

However, with excess protection, you’ll have the chance to recover your excess – up to £500 – meaning you won’t be out of pocket if you have to make a claim.

You can find the full details of our home insurance excess protection option, including the full terms and conditions, in your home insurance policy booklet. You can get a quote online, but to add this product to your policy, please contact us.
