Key protection provides cover for loss or theft of your keys. The main features and benefits are:

• Up to £1,500 towards gaining access in the event that your keys are locked in, or broken in the lock of your vehicle, home or office and, if necessary, provide reimbursement for a replacement key or lock.
• Up to £75 a day for up to 3 days car hire if you are stranded away from home due to theft or loss of your car keys or, alternatively, reasonable public transport or taxi fares.
• 24 hour, 365 days a year assistance.
• No excess when you make a claim.
• Cover for all residents living at your address.

• Protected no-claims discount (subject to status) If you’re involved in an accident that’s your fault, you will still be able to retain your no-claims discount
• 24-hour claims service Our claims lines are open all day every day, 365 days of the year. Our friendly operators will be there to assist and advise you and help you process your claim speedily. Once you’ve signed up for cover, you’ll receive the numbers you need in the event of theft or accident
• Windscreen cover If your windscreen is broken, you can arrange a replacement using our specialist repairers (provided you’ve taken out comprehensive car insurance cover)
• Medical Expenses If you, or any of your passengers, are injured in an accident involving the car, we will pay towards Medical Expenses for each person (limits apply)
• Personal belongings (subject to status) We cover personal effects in the car up to £100 (or the amount specified in your policy book) if lost or damaged by accident, fire or theft
• Free courtesy car With comprehensive cover, while your car is being repaired by the approved repairer, a courtesy car will be supplied for your convenience
• Fast repair service We lose no time in getting your car repaired by an approved garage closest to your home address. Payment is normally made direct to the approved garage by us
• Personal Accident Cover If you or one of your passengers are injured or killed in an accident where you are at fault, a lump sum will be paid for specific injuries or death (age limitations apply)

Levels of Cover

Third Party Only: This provides the driver with cover for damage caused by their vehicle to another person or their property.

Third Party, Fire & Theft: This provides the driver with cover for damage caused by their vehicle to another person or their property as well as cover for fire, theft or attempted theft of the vehicle.

Comprehensive: This provides cover for third party, fire, theft and accidental damage to the insured vehicle. This enables the policyholder to claim for almost any damage to the vehicle.

Excess Protection provides insurance to cover reimbursement of your car insurance excess (up to £300) following the successful settlement of a claim in respect of malicious or accidental damage, fire, theft or attempted theft during the period of insurance, where no recovery can be made from a third party.

Excess Protection is administered by Albany Assistance Ltd and is underwritten by AMTrust Europe Limited. All claims must be reported within 30 days of the date the claim was settled by your insurer.

This optional cover is designed to help if you have a car accident that was not your fault and:

• You need a replacement vehicle if yours cannot be driven after a collision

Following an insured incident, MotorPlus will negotiate to recover losses you are not insured for. The most that will be paid is £100,000 for all claims that arise from the same insured incident. If you are involved in a motor accident or need legal advice, MotorPlus is available to help you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
